Rain Newcomb spent her formative years reading comics. She discovered the Beats while attending Guilford College with one of Lucien Carr’s relatives. In addition to reading, writing, and talking about comics, Rain is a founding member of the experimental theatre company, The Redundant Theatre Company Theatre. In her spare time, she teaches for the Writing, Rhetoric, and Critical Studies Program at Western Carolina University in the mountains of North Carolina.
