    Dear Dr. Gair,

I hoep you are well. I recently joined the European Beat Studies Network, and having just checked out the website, I was very pleased to see that you are also a member. I am currently in my first year back at Strathclyde undertaking doctoral study (I was fully funded so I am thrilled!), and my thesis title is currently ‘”Far Out”: The Life and Writing of Alexander Trocchi’, in which I will be undertaking some comparative Beat/Trocchi analyses. Anyway, when I just thought to say hello. Also, if it was at all possible, I would be very much obligedif you could perhaps let me know of any Beat-related events at Glasgow University, if I may be able to attend?

    Kind regards,

    Gillian
