Estíbaliz Encarnación Pinedo obtained her degree in English Philology in 2009 at the University of Murcia, where she also completed a Master’s degree in European Literature in 2010 (with a dissertation entitled The Individual Reaching Out: Masculinity, Homosexuality and Gender Roles in the Beat Generation).
She has recently been awarded a pre-doctoral scholarship for her PhD studies by the Ministry of Science and Innovation. Her research focuses on the construction of the female voice in the works of the women of the Beat Generation, as well as the feminist influences of the movement from the 1950s onwards.
She has participated in some international conferences dealing with literature and popular culture. Forthcoming contributions include a paper presentation on the Reconstruction of History through the memoirs written by the female Beats in a conference organized by the Spanish Association for American Studies.
