Geetanjali Joshi is a research scholar at the University of Lucknow, Lucknow, U.P India. She is working on the concepts of spirit, sex and body in the works of Beat poets. She did her M.A. in English at the University of Lucknow in 2004 with a specialization in linguistics and American literature. She also holds a B.Ed degree awarded by the University of Lucknow in 2006. She has been teaching ESL at various levels for the past five years. She was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship in 2008, which enabled her to work as a teacher of Hindi at Portland State University, Oregon, USA . She has been closely involved with SPIEL (a journal on literary trends), and has designed courses in English language for some of the leading intermediate schools in Lucknow.
