Diederik Oostdijk is professor of English and American Literature at VU University Amsterdam in the Netherlands and a Board Member of the Netherlands American Studies Association (NASA). He has won two Fulbright fellowships and research stipends at Indiana University, Emory University, and the University of Texas at Austin. Oostdijk is co-editor of Tales of the Great American Victory: World War II in Politics and Poetics (2006) and has published over a dozen articles on American literature and culture. His book Among the Nightmare Fighters: American Poets of World War II was published by the University of South Carolina Press in the summer of 2011. His next project is on postwar American poets traveling to Europe in the Cold War era, including also Beat poets.
