Tomasz Sawczuk is currently a PhD candidate in the Department of Neophilology at the University of Bialystok, Poland. He earned his M.A. at the University of Adam Mickiewicz, Poznan, Poland. His thesis discussed the Whitmanesque tradition in American literature in relation to the poetry of Whitman, Hughes, and Ginsberg. His PhD explores Jack Kerouac through the lens of the psychoanalytical theories of Jacques Lacan.
