Alan Wray

Alan Wray graduated with an MA in Rhetoric and Composition from Western Carolina University, United States, where he now teaches undergraduate writing courses. His MA thesis focused on the post-9/11 presidential rhetoric of G.W. Bush – exploring the correlation between public discourse rooted in authoritarian ideology and increased tolerance for discrimination and racially motivated violence. He is particularly fascinated with Beat writers in the context of their creative, multifaceted rhetorical choices in the face of what they perceived as destructive or inhibiting social and political forces.
