Ambar Geerts Zapién

Ambar Geerts Zapién obtained her degree in Modern Languages in 2010 from the Free University of Brussels. Her dissertation was entitled Shamanism and Entheogens in the 1960: Carlos Castañeda and Timothy Leary.
She was awarded a doctoral grant from the National University of Mexico (UNAM), where she recently started a research in comparative literature on Diane di Prima’s poetry between 1955 and 1971. Her research focuses on gender relationships in the bohemian milieu of 1950s New York and the representation of the body in Di Prima’s writings.
