Dave Slaven started rambling the US at the age of 15 in 1963, and was lucky to meet many of the Beats, particularly and often, Allen Ginsberg.
He decided to live life in the Beat way after reading On the Road by Jack Kerouac in 1967. He ran into Gary Snyder at poetry readings on Grant Street, City Lights, San Francisco and at the “No Name” bar in Sausalito. He was lucky to meet many of the well known & lesser known Beat originals in the late 60s and early 70s being a drugged out and drunken short story and poetry fan.
