Stikane’s Master thesis “Mysticism of the Beat Generation: Allen Ginsberg’s Howl” focuses on the influence of mysticism and identifies religious syncretism in the poem Howl. Ilze is currently a first year Phd student in a Theology degree program at the University of Latvia. Ilze’s dissertation “Perception of the Concept of Eternity within the Beat Generation’s Canon of Understanding,” focuses on Beat Generation’s perception of time and their understanding of eternity within their literary works and insights. The goal of the dissertation is to try to create a dialogue between theology and Beat Generation.
