Isabel Castelao-Gómez

Dr Castelao-Gómez is a lecturer in Literatures in English and Literary Theory and Gender at Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED) (Spanish Open University) in Madrid. She has a Master Degree in Comparative Literature from Purdue University, US, and spent two years as Visiting Student for postgraduate research at UC Berkeley. She specialized in American modernist and contemporary women’s poetry, feminist literary criticism, and Gender and Cultural Studies. She has written articles on these issues, translated Mina Loy into Spanish and published a poetry book. Her research work now focuses on American feminist avant-garde women’s poetry, material feminisms, feminist geographies, and gender in digital humanities. Her most recent publication is an interview with Jan Montefiore, author of Feminism and Poetry, in the European Journal of Women’s Studies and she is co-authoring a critical volume on Beat women poets to be published in Spain soon.
