Jack Mann is part of a coterie of Beat enthusiasts, the ‘Dead Beats’, based at the University of Sheffield. His research interests are centrally focussed around the transcendence of soul throughout the Beat works, particularly those of Ginsberg and Kerouac. Alongside his studies, he co-runs the Dead Beats Literary Journal, a burgeoning hub of new literary potential inspired by the Beat Poets.
