Joe Provenzano (b. 1995) is an American poet, biographer, editor, scholar, and publisher. He is the only American living who has quoted both Ralph Waldo Emerson and Deion Sanders in the past 48 hours. He is the only American living who has quoted both Ralph Waldo Emerson and Deion Sanders in the past 48 hours. His commitment to truth gets him into trouble, but it will also win him the heart of the world. Of Provenzano, Marc Olmsted has written: “He is clearly a bohemian tulku of some sort.” He attends the University of Michigan and will foment a revolution in language and learning with his well-coached, hand-picked cadre of First Team All-Contrarians.
In July of 2016 Provenzano joined Arthur S. Nusbaum’s Third Mind Books, of which he is now Vice President. In his capacity as VP, he curates items alongside Nusbaum, supervises morale, and serves as master-of-ceremonies at TMB Events.
He is the author of two books of poetry, and one book of literary scholarship. Two additional books of poetry — Confessions of a Latter-Day Dadaist and Sipping Something, Somewhere: New Poems by Joe Provenzano — along with three works of literary biography are forthcoming. Works of Philosophy and Art-Literary Criticism (on Burroughs, Kerouac, Matisse and Duchamp) will likewise appear.
Provenzano welcomes correspondence with his Beat-&-Beyond colleagues, and plans to contribute original work in poetry, prose, and literary scholarship for many years to come.
