Lisa Stein Haven is an Associate Professor of English at Ohio University Zanesville. She specializes in 20th Century American literature and silent film comedy. Her current book project investigates the resurgence of Chaplin’s Little Tramp persona in America after his deportation, 1952-1977, in which the Beats, especially Bob Kaufman, Allen Ginsberg and Peter Orlovsky, Gregory Corso, Lawrence Ferlinghetti (not a Beat) and Jack Kerouac played an important role. Haven spent her sabbatical in Fall 2014 investigating Beat archives at Berkeley, Stanford and the Harry Ransom Center.
