Oana Demeter

Oana Demeter is a second year PhD student at the Compared Literature Department of the Faculty of Letters, Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Her thesis provides a contextual approach to Norman Mailer’s 1957 essay “The White Negro.”

She has written several articles on the subject, including an essay entitled “The Uses and Abuses of ‘The White Negro’: A Critical Approach to an Enduring and Problematic Reception” and a piece on Hip Existentialism as “sexistentialism.”
