Phil Baker

Phil Baker has written books on Samuel Beckett, absinthe, and the artist Austin Osman Spare, as well as on William S Burroughs in the Reaktion Books ‘Critical Lives’ series. His other interests include drug writing, the culture of the occult, psychogeography, and Buddhism, and he writes for a number of publications including the Times Literary Supplement and the Fortean Times. He recently co-edited Lord of Strange Deaths: the Fiendish World of Sax Rohmer, and he is currently researching the early western Buddhist Allan Bennett, and the poet Harry Fainlight.
