Roger Bygott is a Manchester based visual artist working in the field of installation, gestural mark making, sculpture and site specific response. He also works in collaboration with dancers, video artists and sound artists. He completed his B.A. at the Manchester School of Art. Recent work has included a collaborative dance/installation residency, Body Stories at Huddersfield Art Gallery. He completed a nine-month residency at Federation House, a Castlefield Gallery New Arts Space, Manchester, working with shredded paper. His installation ‘The Making of Him’ received the MAFA Award for 3D Art & Design in 2014.

Roger Bygott is a member of Suite Studio Group in Salford. He is developing Manifest, a new festival of visual art for Manchester and North West artists, to run alongside Manchester International Festival.

He is organising, with EBSN member Simon Warner, ‘Still Howling’ a day celebration in Manchester, UK, of the 60th anniversary of Allen Ginsberg’s first reading of Howl. The event will be in October 2015. He is also researching Allen Ginsberg’s brief contact with Manchester.
