Shaun de Waal

Shaun de Waal is a South African writer. He has worked for the Mail & Guardian newspaper since 1989 (when it was The Weekly Mail); he was its literary editor from 1991 to 2006, and has been its chief film critic since 1998. He has written widely on the arts and other subjects for the newspaper. He has published three works of fiction, These Things Happen (short stories, 1996), Jackmarks (a graphic novelette, 1998), and Exposure (short stories, 2008).
