Raven See

Raven is a poet and performance artist based in Chicago, Il. Raven completed their Master’s degree in 20th-century American poetry with a focus on Beat Studies at Boston College in 2013. Their academic work has focused on elevating the voices of Beat Women and tracing the Beat Generation’s influence on contemporary American Spoken Word. 

Joining the EBSN with the inaugural conference in Middelburg in 2012, Raven stepped into the role of Conference Administrator in 2014 and subsequently joined the EBSN’s Board of Directors. 

Most recently, Raven has left academic pursuits for the life of a performance artist. They completed Aloft’s Professional Circus Arts program in Chicago and have spent the last several years developing a performance style that combines spoken word and circus arts. Primarily a contortionist, Raven’s work embodies queer experience as they explore the limits of possibility. Raven has brought their unique mix of language and creative movement to EBSN events in Manchester, Vienna, Nicosia, Murcia, and Bialystok!
