Adam Pettet is an Australian poet/writer. Adam has been reading and studying the Beat Generation for many years and has a strong understanding of the history and theory of the Beat Generation. He has been called one of Australia’s foremost Beat historians, and his work was described as having “Strong Beat Poetics” by respected Australian poet John Tranter.
He has published Poetry, Fiction and Journalism in anthologies, journals and magazines around the world including Oxford Poetry (UK), World Literature Today (US), The Cortland Review (US), Island Magazine (AUS), Broadsheet (NZ) and Dazed and Confused Magazine (International). He is the author of two collections of poetry, most recently Improvised Dirges: New and Selected Poems (Bareknuckle Books 2016). He has presented at numerous festivals, including the Brisbane Writers Festival, the National Poetry Festival, The National Young Writers Festival & the Queensland Poetry Festival.
