CP Lee

CP Lee, Dr Christopher P Lee, is an Emeritus Fellow of University of Salford, UK, where he was Head of Film Studies at their Media City UK campus until 2015 when he retired. He is currently touring with his one-man show ‘Just One Alberto’, an homage to his musical adventures on the road with Rock iconoclasts Alberto Y Lost Trios Paranoias. He has written and spoken about Bob Dylan extensively since he first saw Dylan in 1966 at Manchester’s Free Trade Hall ‘Judas’ concert and in 1999 he co-produced and featured alongside Andy Kershaw in ‘Ghost of Electricity’, an award-winning documentary about that legendary evening. He has also written and presented radio documentaries for BBC Radio 4 on hipster Jazz comic Lord Buckley (M’Lords and Ladies Lord Buckley, 2003) and eccentric Tiny Tim (Tiny Tim The Human Canary, 2005). His performance as Lord Buckley at 2009’s Naked Lunch@50 Symposium in Paris is on YouTube.  In 2014 he presented Flowers Open Fire, a performance presentation at the ‘William Burroughs at 100’. In October 2015 he was MC at the ‘Still Howling’ event organised by EBSN members Roger Bygott and Simon Warner celebrating the 60th anniversary of the first reading of Allen Ginsberg’s ‘Howl’.
