Francesco Ciaponi is a lecturer, graphic historian, and editorial curator specializing in independent publishing, underground culture, and visual communication.
He teaches History of Design, History of Applied Arts, and Media Theory at several Italian academies, including Brera Academy of Fine Arts, G. Tiepolo Academy, and Modartech Institute.
Author of numerous publications, such as “Underground: Rise and decline of another publishing” and “Sticker Art: history of adhesive art”, he has founded and directed journals like Contesto and Friscospeaks, and has curated exhibitions and events in the field of independent graphics and publishing.
His work combines academic research, curatorial practice, and a commitment to promoting grassroots graphic and fanzine culture, both in Italy and internationally.
