Jean-Marc Montera

Jean-Marc Montera co-founded GRIM (Group of Musical Research and Improvisation) in 1978 in Marseille. French guitarist with origins in rock, specializing in free improvisation and sound experimentation, He has collaborated with Fred Frith, Chris Cutler, André Jaume, Barre Phillips, Loren Mazzacane Connors, Thurston Moore, Lee Ranaldo, Famoudou Don Mote, Alvin Curran, Christian Wolff, Pauline Oliveros, John Giorno… Concerts with Sonic Youth and Patti Smith. Appears approximately on 35 records, one on Signature, Radio France label Femmes poètes de la Beat Generation with Lee Ranaldo, Jean-François Pauvros, Noël Akchoté, Sophie Gonthier, Fanny Paccoud and Ernie Brooks. Numerus collaborations with dance, theater, fine arts, images… Since 2016 is Associated Artist within GMEM (Groupe de Musique Expérimentale de Marseille National Center of Musical Creation).
