We are excited to present an exclusive interview on EBSN Voices featuring EBSN president Oliver Harris in conversation with director Nic Saunders. Together, they unpack the backstory of Saunders’ extraordinary new anthology feature film, Queen of the Redwood Mountains.

Spanning nearly two decades of grassroots development, the ambitious film weaves together the spirits and aesthetics of Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg, William S. Burroughs, and Michael McClure into a single, cohesive narrative.

Saunders discusses everything from casting Beat legend Al Hinkle and the late Hollywood veteran Gavan O’Herlihy, to navigating literary estates and shooting on location from the redwoods of Big Sur to the winding medinas of Tangier.
