Stefan Wouters is an art historian, guest lecturer and curator based in Brussels. He holds a double doctorate in Art Sciences and Archaeology (VUB) and in Theatre Sciences and Intermedia (UA). His research focuses on the interdisciplinary aspect of performance art and the reception of this art form within subcultures. He is the organizer of the ‘Belgium Performance Festival’ and co-organizer of the ‘Joint Doctoral Seminar’ (VUB-UA-UGent-KUL), a member of the ‘ Research Center for Visual Poetics’ (UA) and researcher for the ‘Wintergarten Research Group’ (VUB). As from the academic year 2015-2016 he will be lecturing ‘Happenings and Performance art’ at the VUB.
